23 things I learned at 23!
Updated: Dec 29, 2022
Dear reader,
I hope everything is going well for you. This article is not at all like the previous one. Since you already know what it is, I'll share the most important things I've learned so far. Let's dive into it:
Trust yourself and prioritize yourself first.
Diet and going to the gym (or) doing western workouts is not my thing. The only exercise I'm comfortable with is yoga, walking and skipping. Do what is comfortable and listen to your body.
Stand on your own feet and be independent. Make your own decisions and don't permit others to control you.
'Me' time is significant. I want to have my time, my private space, only me or else I'll explode. Every day, make time for yourself. ❤
You are beautiful, adorable, just the way you are. Believe me, and it took a very long time to accept this.
'I love myself a lot'. I say this phrase often, but I realised it only when my sister told me that.
Help others only when they ask you and don't advise anyone until they ask.
People from rural areas have no idea what it's like to live in a city? No, that is incorrect; we can adapt and enjoy ourselves wherever we go.
When it came to giving presentations or seminars, I used to have low self-esteem and zero confidence. My legs would tremble; I'd be zoned out; my mind would play all the negative tricks; and, oh man, you'd feel the chemical reaction both inside and outside your body. When I told a friend about this, she told me only one thing: "face your fears." It was difficult to follow it immediately, but I took the progress slowly and overcame my fear when I was in my Master degree. I gave a presentation under no duress. I was overjoyed and didn't bother to take the feedback.
I'm not upset with what other people think of me. We say this, but we are concerned about what others say. It hurts, but we can't blame them because they're older than us. "They know everything; pay attention to them." Oh boy! Make your own decisions and shape your own life. There is no such thing as right or wrong. Before you throw it away, give it a shot.
Don't take everything personally, and don't blame yourself. Take it easy and go about your life. It's easy to say, but putting it into action is a huge step; even so, you will realise it at some point. We begin to wonder, "What is the point of being angry?" It's not going to make a difference. Advantageously, we move on from it.
"Don't hold onto your past; let it go". It is easy to say, but it takes time to let go of it.
Stand on your own feet and try to be positive as much as you can.
Just because someone has quit their job does not mean they have given up on their dreams. They have goals and are pursuing them. It would be best if you did not judge anyone.
Money is necessary, but happiness is more important. Be content with what you have. Take pleasure in the little things.
Don't judge a person based on their caste or religion.
Everyone is capable of writing poems. (well, it's a big surprise for me that I can write poems!) 😅
We are still learning and will never stop learning.
Phones make you lazy and social media gets you addicted.
Don't put yourself in the same category as others. Everyone has their own set of goals, way of life, ups and downs. Imperfection is beautiful. Admire it, dude!
Don't rush to achieve success. Take pleasure in the process of taking baby steps.
Don't think about the future, be PRESENT.
Saving money doesn't mean you have to make sacrifices.
These are the essential lessons I've learned, and it makes perfect sense that I wasn't born to impress anyone. LOL!!!
Live life to the fullest and enjoy all your little achievements.
Take care and stay safe.
