How I started my Creative Journey?
Updated: Dec 29, 2022
Hand lettering is the starting point of my creative journey. During the lockdown, I felt lonely and surrounded by negative thoughts. Then I found some creative suggestions to get rid of these negative thoughts.
'One suggestion is, to be creative and pursue hobbies or continue your favourite ones'.
But I didn't have any hobbies, and I just sat down scrolling through Insta reels and found a reel about 'hand lettering'. This is how it drew me to learn hand lettering. So, I started off with:
(Suzy) aka How to hand letter - I took a mini-course from her. Later I asked Aparna akka for more tips and suggestions. She suggested a few classes and websites regarding hand lettering:
The happy ever crafter classes.
Lettering daily - I learnt how to give shadow to letters from this website.
99design (Andrea Stan) - bubble lettering and different style of lettering.
Loveleigh University - how to provide flourish to letters.
To embellish my letters, I started doodling and watercolor painting to fill and beautify the negative space (or) empty space on the paper. By learning hand lettering, I learned how to design letters and create my own font and greeting cards.
This is why I called hand lettering the starting point of my creative journey. Thank you so much.
