Another year passed by....too quickly, really quickly!!!As I was cleaning my cupboard I found a greeting card from my childhood days. So now you are forced to come with me to a trip down to the memory lane (evil smile!!)...

When we were kids my friends and I used to buy 1 rupee greeting cards which had movie stars picture on them. We used to wake up early, get dressed and visit our friend's houses and gave them those cards. It was such a fun time because we get to decide who receives Mega star Chiranjeevi's card or Mahesh Babu's card .

We used to walk on the streets carefree, happy, wishing everyone "Happy new year", checking out the colorful rangoli designs in our neighborhood houses ,eating chocolates and counting how many cards we each got. It was a prestige issue if we got less than our peers.Ahh what a wonderful time :)

I know times are different now but the feeling of receiving a greeting card with hand written greetings and your name on it couldn't beat anything. Handmade stuff have a life to it!! So to honor this I decided to make a card which then became a zine( Creative fairy commanded me and she doesn't take no for an answer !!! ) .

A Zine is like a little booklet or you can say its a mini version of a magazine where you can write ,draw, fill with stories and photographs or whatever you like.

So I made a zine!!

  • I have included a pdf file which you can print on an A4 paper and follow the video to make one for yourself. Its pretty easy!!

  • I have numbered the pages so that it will be easy to figure out.

  • "Happy new year" is the front cover.

  • "A jackanddoodle production" is the back cover.

The back of the paper can be used to write a letter or draw something u love. Add some

stickers or dried leaves ,color it and get creative.

Here are some examples:

Pdf File:

And don't forget to gift or mail it to your friends and family. Let's spread the cheer of a New year in all the little ways we can. We all deserve the best!!Happiee New Year 2022!!

Tag me @avijayillustrations if you would like to share it :)
